# Import SKUs from csv

 * We have about 200 variable products and now we have decided to add SKUs to all
   of them. The built-in import tools will not import the SKU numbers but rather
   checks to see if the SKU in our CSV matches the product SKU in WC.
 * None of our products in WC have skus and would like to import them from a CSV
   based on the product id. Is this possible?

 * You can use the built-in importer to update the existing products with SKUs using
   a CSV.
 * While importing the products, you need to make sure you have checked the “Update
   existing products” option here: [https://d.pr/i/2bJ6XY](https://d.pr/i/2bJ6XY)
 * This will look for existing products with matching product Ids and update all
   of them.
 * I did a test to update existing products with SKUs and everything worked correctly
   on my end. Below are the screenshots:
