• I hope you can help me. I would like to upload a self-hosted video (18mb) directly to WordPress, NOT embed from YouTube!

I have difficulties understanding this concept, it should be easy, but it’s not… There are plugins, but they don’t seem to support .mov’s or all browsers/mobile devices…

There is the direct upload via media library, but I have an 8mb limit and all the php.ini/.htaccess/functions.php changes I’ve made from other threads is not helping with that…

I’ve searched the web and am just way too confused to know what to do anymore…

Can anyone tell me how to present a self-hosted video of 18 mb directly on my website?

    Thanks

  • If raising your upload limit didn’t work, you could upload it via FTP and then when you go to add media when writing a post, use the “From URL” tab and point to the video you uploaded.

Thanks Craig, yes it is uploaded, but if I just add from URL, it’s just an a href which only gives me a link, not the video. I’m looking for an self-hosted embed/player really, not just a link… Or am I doing this wrong perhaps?

@jesslohm – Try using the video shortcode.
