import of WordPress blog fails

    I installed a WordPress blog on a new site of mine, and am trying to import from another WP blog.

    Tools -> Import -> WordPress results in

    Before you can upload your import file, you will need to fix the following error:

Unable to create directory /home/----/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    There is no uploads directory
    public_html/ is rwxr-x—
    blog/ and wp-content/ are rwxr-xr-x

    Have you tried creating an uploads directory?

    Assign 777 permissions to wp-content folder and then try to import. Revert the permission once you complete import.

    Thanks. I chmod-ed wp-content/ to 777, and imported – the posts are in the new blog, but there was a warning with each one: 

    1 Importing post "title"...

PHP Error Message

Warning: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/-----/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/wordpress-importer.php on line 438

    I think this can be markd “resolved”
