    Hi there
I have just upgraded from b2 v0.6.2.1 to WordPress 1.2 using the import-b2.php script.
All entries are imported, and they look fine, when I view them via phpMyAdmin.
But when I point my browser to the blog, all the special Danish characters are messed up and japanese (or whatever) characters are shown instead.
Is there a way to upgrade, keeping the Danish characters intact ?

The default charset for WordPress is UTF-8. What charset did you use for your B2 blog? Does it help to change WordPress to the same charset?

Hm, I don’t know, where to change that. Can you help ?

When I a create new entries in the blog, the Danish charaters are fine. It’s only the b2 imported entries that get messed up.
    Any ideas ?

Your b2 blog was most likely iso-8859-1 or -15, and this is the encoding your old posts are in, inside your database. I am just guessing, but this is the case, you will have to convert your database to utf-8. Stephanie at climbtothestars has an article on how to do this.

Right on! That did the trick. Thanks a bunch.
