I have a directory of .htm files on my computer, and all the links contained within them are consistent and navigate fine whenever they are found in the same directory.
After I import them into WordPress though, the links no longer work because WP keeps adding a section to the URL depending on which page you are CURRENTLY on when you click a link.
For example, if I’m currently on page A (which is located at URL http://www.mydomain.com/locationA) and I click on a link to page B (whose URL is http://www.mydomain.com/locationB) wordpress is throwing in an extra piece to the slug like so: http://www.mydomain.com/locationA/locationB.
Or if I’m at location C clicking a link to B it generates http://www.mydomain.com/locationC/locationB as if whatever page I’m currently on should have anything at all to do with the page I’m linking to. And so every link on my site ends up going to the homepage because the domains the links point towards don’t exist.
Is there a simple way to tell wordpress not to add that extra piece of URL?
