Support » Plugin: LifterLMS - WordPress LMS Plugin » Import learner course completions?

    Greetings,
Moving from a different system, same courses, same learners. Need to be able to move each learner’s history into new LMS. Example. Johnny has completed Ethics 101 in old system. I need to indicate in new system that Johnny has completed that course already. I don’t see a way to do this, short of signing in as each learner, enrolling in each course, marking lessons as complete, and taking the final quiz for each learner individually. I don’t care about importing scores or dates, just completions.
    Help?
    Thanks!
    Pete

    Hi @pmharder

Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to mark courses complete other than the way you described above.

Most of the marking lessons complete you can do from the back end under LifterLMS->Reporting and selecting the student to mark their lessons complete all on one page: https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-can-i-mark-a-lesson-complete-or-incomplete-for-my-student/

However, we do not have a way to mark quizzes complete without the quiz being taken.

It may be worth it to hire a developer for further help with this or to write a custom code that overrides the completion setting for a course. We have the LifterLMS Experts program with developers familiar with LifterLMS that could help with this: https://lifterlms.com/experts/

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for your reply. That’s a bit of a bummer. This would mean that any engagement emails celebrating completions would automatically go out too, right? And over 1000 completed quizzes would have to be replicated? Ouch. No way to directly update (manipulate) the database of users? Overall I’m liking what I see in LifterLMS, but the cost in time of converting may be a killer.

    Hi @pmharder

You could turn the engagement emails off during the transfer. Once the trigger is already hit if you turn the engagements on afterwards then they will not go out. Our notifications and engagements do not trigger retroactively.

Another option for transferred users is to have separate hidden courses that go towards their history but aren’t viewable or accessible to new users or users who did not take them. This way you can turn off the quiz requirement and complete the course for the student without taking the quizzes.

Would these work as workarounds for your students?

Let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for the ideas. I’m going to have to ponder this one for a bit.
