Import from Sandvox (2 posts)

I have created my website first in iWeb, then, when I discovered its limitations, in Sandvox. The downside of Sandvox is that I can only update my site from the computer I created it on. So I have decided to try and learn WP. But first...

If I can't import my site as it is from Sandvox to WP, I'll live with the limitation I currently have. I'm not going to recreate my site again. So, has anyone been able to import a site created in Sandvox into WP, and if so, can they please give me as much detail of the procedure as possible. I can export from Sandvox to files on my hard disk, but what the format is I'm not able to determine with any degree of certainty. Most of the files appear to contain html code.

    Or maybe there's a plug-in for Sandvox?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Some extra thoughts on this. Actually the site is up there, of course, and visible on the net. And it's all in the public_html directory at my ISP, along with a load of files and directories with names beginning with wp-.

I don't know whether the directory structure that Sandvox uses is some kind of standard. There's a _Media directory and another I think is called _Resources (I'm not on the machine with the Sandvox installation) and each thread on the site appears to be a subdirectory containing at least an index.html file. And I have two external links to blogger.com for my and my wife's blogs.

    Does this make it easier?
