Import from Posterous

    Hi,

    could someone please help me, Posterous says their closing and I’ve backed up my files/posts and followed instructions on how to import all the posts to wordpress.

    ive created new wordpress blogs and it keeps emailing me to say import was successful but upon checking, there’s not even 1 post that’s been transferred over, somebody please help!!

    my posts are all text, there is no media..

    No one from Posterous will reply either

    Is your new site on WordPress.COM? If so, you’re in the wrong place – these forums are for self-hosted WordPress.ORG sites – see:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You can post here for help with .COM sites: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    If you do have a self-hosted site, who is your host and what’s your domain name?

    Hi mymoltenshield,

    There is definitely some kind of problem with the output file generated by posterous (the .zip with the .xml inside it). You aren’t entirely alone.

    I’d use dllh’s importer. I did that on a hosted WOrdpress blog and imported everything from posterous just fine – both the default WOrdpress Importer and WordPress’s own Posterous Importer failed.

    I created a video of how to do it. If you are not using a hosted site – you could just skip the bit about creating a hosted website. See this thread. Good luck.
