Import from Blogger incomplete – please help!

    @want3398

    I really hope someone can help me figure out what to do. I recently imported my 4-year-old Blogger blog, with over 1100 posts, and more than 12,000 comments, into a self-hosted WordPress blog. I took great pains to make sure that all of my Blogger posts would redirect, and everything seems to be working fine, except that the Blogger importer left behind about 40 posts, and only imported around 800 comments. I’ve retried the importer again and again, and it never brings in anything new.

    However, I have my Blogger XML file, and I was able to successfully import it into a free WordPress.com blog. I’ve read in various threads that I should now just export from WordPress.com, and then import into my WordPress.org blog. Is this a good idea? Will my links and SEO and Google rank be all messed up if I do? And how do I delete all of the content I’ve already imported so that I don’t have duplicate posts? The thought of manually deleting over 1100 duplicate posts is pretty overwhelming.

    This is my first experience with WordPress and self hosting, and I’m so frustrated. I have vertigo from staring at the computer for so long!
