import / export posts with phpmyadmin

    Hi guys,

    I’m trying to clone my blog on the same server as the production server. (i only need the posts)
    Is there a way to export all post with phpmyadmin and import them in an other blog without using the export/import tool in WP? (the wp tool doesn’t import all the posts (about 4000))

    Is it an option to make a backup of the entire WP db an restore it and edit the siteurl and blogname in phpmyadmin?

    Or are there any other options?

    With phpMyAdmin you can export selected tables. When in your WordPress database, click Export along the top link tabs, then in the Export selection field where all tables of that db are listed, hold down your Ctrl key while clicking on each table you want.

    Wow, i did it.

    i did a new WP install
    Then i copied the wp-content/plugins en themes directory to the new installation

    In phpmyadmin I selected wp_comments, wp_links, wp_posts, wp_posts_meta and all other important tables and imported them in the new fresh installed WP.

    I refreshed the browser and my clone was ready.

    bierflesje, please… can you tell me all the tables that you imported?
    I want to do the same…

    wp_comments, wp_links, wp_posts, wp_posts_meta and what else?

    Please someone help me…
