 * Hi,
 * I was either unable or completely incapable to create a topic in any other forum
   or find the appropriate forum for this question, so any help will be more than
   welcome (even if it’s just a link to the forum in which to ask this).
 * My problem is that I can’t seem to export my former website properly: the media
   doesn’t link to the right posts and not even all posts transfer. I tried to wipe
   and import the files several times, but to no avail.
 * I recently moved from andreasnirvana.wordpress.com to andreasnirvana.com, the
   latter being hosted on BlueHost. I contacted them, looking for help when it comes
   to the issue, and they asked for backups for the database and the files (because
   my export files weren’t the right type?? i don’t know). I tried to reach out
   on the WordPress.com forums, and they said they don’t provide database backups.
   Also, I can’t use a plugin to download the sql database because my initial plan
   wasn’t a paid one, and thus doesn’t allow me to install plugins…. Please help?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fimport-export-issues-2%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * If your ex host server is still working and paid, you can download the right
   mysql data base(s) via host’s control panel (CPanel, etc.).

 * Sadly that’s not available via WordPress.com – it’s a managed platform.
 * Also if the traditional importer isn’t working, then you’ll be best served by
   paying $129 for a transfer: [https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/](https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/)
 * Because WP.com is behind a paywall, there’s not much else to be done for it 🙁

 * First try:
    1. Export from wp-com according to [https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/](https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/)
   2. Install a fresh WordPress on the new location. 3. In the new WordPress look
   for Tools – Import – WordPress
 * I believe I saw somewhere that wp-com nowadays may split your export into several
   files and zip them. If that’s the case then you may need to unzip them and import
   one at a time. (And you may need to import same file several times, in case your
   server would hit execution time constraints.)
