# Import Database

 * I have a copy of a give database, how can I import it into another site with 
   give already installed.

 * There’s a lot of moving parts in your question, and I don’t think I have all 
   the details I need in order to answer with certainty, but let me tell you what
   I can about Give and the tools we offer, as well as some things that are more
   generally about WordPress and site migrations.
 * **WORDPRESS MIGRATIONS**
    Your question is generally about WordPress migrations.
   migrating information from one WordPress site to another. This is because Give
   doesn’t have it’s own “Database”, but uses the database your whole site uses.
   So if you migrate your database from one place to another, then all the Give 
   data will be there as well.

 * **GIVE TOOLS FOR EXPORTING GIVE DATA**
    If you don’t want to migrate ALL your
   data from one site to another, but JUST the Give forms, or the Give settings,
   or the Give donations, here’s a few tools we offer:
 * 1. EXPORT GIVE SETTINGS:
    Go to “Donations > Tools > Export” and you’ll see an
   export for exporting JUST your Give settings. You can use that to import those
   settings into a new site. Whether Give is active or not at that time doesn’t 
   matter, once you DO activate Give on that site, all those settings will be there
   and be reflected correctly.

 * 2. EXPORT/IMPORT GIVE FORMS
    If you want export your Give forms, you can do that
   with WordPress’ default Export/Import tools, found at “Tools > Export” and “Tools

 * 3. EXPORT/IMPORT GIVE DONATIONS
    Donations can be exported using our export tool.

 * I have setup a new website with Give plugin installed. I have setup the new forms
   already, but nothing else has been done. I didn’t do an export, before I shutdown
   the old site, but I still have access to the old database. I can export tables
   and import them into the new database, but I need to know what tables and is 
   it feasable. My best quess would be wpni_comments, wpni_commentmeta, wpni_give_donationmeta,
   wpni_give_donormeta, wpni_give_donors, wpni_give_logs.

 * IT’s definitely feasible. Any of the tables with the `_give_` prefix will be 
   necessary. But all your Give FORMS are stored in `wp_posts` and `wp_postmeta`
   so you’ll need those as well if you want the Give forms imported into the new
   site.
