I’m trying to move a page right now.
For this I import the xml-file, which I exported in the other version.
This works perfectly, but the images are not imported, they are simply linked.
I know that the xml itself does not contain the images. Is there a way to practically download the images from the external page and upload them to the new page so that they are correctly assigned to the posts?
Unfortunately I don’t have access to the database of the old site, because it is hosted at and runs there with a modified version.

    Thank you very much!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The importer has a checkbox for handling the file attachments.

If you didn’t do that, you can delete and try again. Or use your browser to save each image from the page (context menu: Save Image) in the old site, so you can upload them into the new site. You don’t need access to the database, since images have to be downloaded by your browser to see them anyway.

Edit: If you delete to retry, be sure to empty the trash (and maybe Save Permalnks), so the slugs won’t be used already.

    Hello Joy,
I’m sorry I didn’t check it out better before.
I have just set up two test installations where it works correctly and the images were copied.
So it’s clearly up to the previous provider, who uses a very old WP version.

Thank you very much for your effort with the screenshot.
    Many greetings

I was curious and looked into the .xml, because the provider does not give any information about the version.
It is wordpress/ . Amazing that an import for a 14 years old version still works at all.
