• This is half question, half information for others (I couldn’t find mention of this specifically so thought I’d throw it out):

When importing my blogger blog into wordpress everything looked good. I followed the most simple method (Clicked Import > Granted Access > Clicked the Magic Button). But when it was complete I realised that a few posts were missing.

I investigated and noticed that the total number of posts imported was 68. 60 published posts and 8 drafts. When I went back to blogger I checked and saw that there were 68 published posts and 12 drafts.

It seems that the import routine first looks to see how many posts there are to import, but that this stage only counts the published posts. Then, when it actually does the importing, it imports all posts whether they are published or draft, starting with most recent first. The result is that the import will fall short of your total number of posts by the number of drafts you have. (I have 80 posts, but 12 are drafts so in total the import brought over 68, but missed out my first (oldest) 12 posts).

I worked around this copying the text of my drafts, deleting the drafts and then importing again. But if someone could pass this to the technical people it sounds like a nice easy fix 🙂

Ah great, glad I could help! It would be a 2 second fix for the programmers, but I guess it isn’t a high priority bug. Plus the workaround isn’t too bad right? 🙂
