    Hi Yannick,

First, this is such an essential and outstanding application for WordPress. I can’t thank you enough for putting this together. I was so sad to lose the Blogroll feature in updates to WordPress but had no idea it still existed. With your plugin, I can control and utilize the features with ease! I have donated and plan to again for your other great plugins!

The problem I am having is both with importing and exporting. I have tried to use the import feature and the template provided, but I get the following error: “row(s) found. 0 link(s) imported successfully.” To test for errors on my end, I simply tried to re-import the template as is, meaning it only had the content you provided with the sample link for IGN.com. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Second, can I add other columns for other components of the Blogroll. In particular, I am interested in importing my Ratings which is still a feature in the manual Add Link option.

Finally, I have hit the Export Links button on the initial screen and the website processes something, but then returns to the same screen. I am not given an option to download nor do I see a file generated. Again, is there something else I should consider?

I really appreciate your assistance at your convenience. Despite these hiccups, I am still very happy with the product and the ease of adding links to my pages. Thank you again!

    -Mark

    Thanks for the donation.

The main issue that people usually hit is that they are using a mac computer and the text editor they use changes all of the line endings to mac format. This format cannot be ready correctly by the web server. Get a text editor where you can make sure that line endings are set to Windows or Unix style and save the file back. You should then be able to import it.

It is not possible to add columns, but I can look at adding that import in early June. I am travelling the next two weeks, so no time to work on this.

For your question about exporting, after you press export, the page refreshes and display a message saying “Download exported links” up top. Just right-click on that link and download.

    Yannick, you are awesome!

You are exactly right… I put the CSV file into a Mac version of Microsoft Excel and it did not work. I took it over to my PC version and saved it as the file type “CSV (MS-DOS)” and it worked like a charm.

I also realized that the download link for exporting appears at the top, just as you suggested. That helped tremendously.

So again, thank you so much for this great app and I will continue to add a donation. I will look forward to future updates!

Glad to hear that you’re on track and thanks in advance for the additional donation. I will get that rating import feature done as soon as I can. Stay tuned!

Hi Mark, I got some time on my first evening in Beijing to implement the import and export of link ratings. Update, give it a spin and let me know if anything is out of place.

You are wonderful, thank you! It works perfectly and is exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you for working on this during your trip, I hope it was not only on my behalf. I wish you the best and safe travels!
