I’m trying to figure out a simple way to import and display RSS feeds on the front page content loop of my word press site -not in the sidebar.

    See:

I have been able to get a feed to appear using FeedWordPress plugin but I don’t want to display each article as a separate post

The goal is to post local content and backfill it with content from the RSS feeds very much like most online newspapers and magazines.

I want to display articles titles from three different feeds as shown below:

RSS Feed Title 1 i.e. Top Stories
    Article title 1
    Article title 2
    Article title 3

RSS Feed Title 2 i.e. Florida news
    Article title 1
    Article title 2
    Article title 3

RSS Feed Title 3 i.e. Crops and Markets
    Article title 1
    Article title 2
    Article title 3

I really thought this would take me about 5 minutes but I have spent all day on this. I think I may be missing something very simple. There are a lot of plugins, tutorials, videos, forum posts on this topic but many seem to be five or six years old – many with conflicting information.

Any ideas or resources would be welcome.
