implementing wp page number plugin

    hi
    i am using twenty eleven theme it is a amazing theme, i need a bit help,
    i have created a child theme and i want to implement wp page numbers plugin,
    guide me how can i add this code “<?php if(function_exists(‘wp_page_numbers’)) : wp_page_numbers(); endif; ?>” to show page numbers instead of Older or Newer Posts.
