• Hi, I am considering adjusting the user_nicename value according to this link

    https://wpsecuritylock.com/how-to-hide-wordpress-username/

Before doing so, i wanted to check with you fine technical experts…is there any adverse impact to doing this? I’m always weary of changing database values for fear there are other tables referencing/using those values. For example, I would be adjusting an admin user so their user_nicename is no longer the same as their user_login, and then moving all existing posts/pages to be authored by that user. The purpose is to ensure the user_login is not displayed anywhere (including source code) for hackers to find.

Will doing this “break” anything else? Affect authorship or search engine rankings or …etc?

Thanks for any insight! If this is the wrong section of the form let me know where I should be and I’ll reopen elsewhere.
