The fix in the related topic which dispatch Files/Gallery/Image attachments to link them to the related “Post Action” on submission has been added into ACF Extended since some time now.
Regarding the final note of the topic: being able to attach an image during the upload, before the form submission, I didn’t find a way to achieve that at the moment.
Note that in all cases, this will be only possible when using a “Post Action: Update”. Other actions won’t be compatible.
- It won’t be possible on “Post Create” since the “new” post doesn’t exist during the modal upload phase. It is created on form submission (this is handled by the current logic which attach on submission).
- It won’t be possible on other Form Actions (User, Term, Options Page etc…), since WP only allow to link attachments to “posts”.
I’ll be probably able to find a specific workaround for the Post Update. This will come after the upcoming Form Module upgrade.
