Hi – great plugin, I wonder if you can help us with a problem we’re having. We’re migrating a site to WordPress, but the previous owner had a really bad naming convention for post images – 1.jpg, 2.jpg and so on. The issue we’ve got is that these are being dumped into the uploads/images/year/month folder, and then erroring out in posts as the <img src> tag is obviously calling up three 3.jpgs from a folder location rather than one.

Is there any way around this?

This feature has been released in version 1.16.0.
You can now import all your images from Joomla to WordPress even if they have the same name. You just have to check the option “Import media with duplicate names”.
