Support » Fixing WordPress » images that won’t stay put

  • To me, this seems like it should be stupid easy to resolve but it is driving me nuts. I’ve been working around it for a couple of months but today I had a post that I REALLY wanted to put up that required my images to remain “just so”.

    My images will not stay still. That is, where they appear to be in the editor when I’m writing is not where they end up when I go to see what the finished product will look like. Oddly, I can’t find anything about this in the help or the forums. I would think everyone has this problem at first.

    I don’t do the code thing to write my blog. I use the visual editor. It looks like a lot to learn and I have other more pressing things to do with my time. My blog is to help[ my business, it is not the focus of my business, but using this interface makes it feel that way sometimes. Call me high maintenance, but I figure that how it looks in the editor should be how it looks when I put it up.

    Anyway, I’ve tried clicking on the images and setting them left, right, center and everything which makes no difference at all from what I can tell.

    FYI, I’m using firefox on a mac, if that makes any difference.

  • You should define “stay put”… Where?

    This is in your theme’s stylesheet:
    img {float: left; margin: 0 12px 12px 0;}
    which means all the images will be aligned (float) to the left, having a margin on right and bottom of 12 pixels. Text will be wrapped around them because of the floating.

    So, that’s the theme you picked and the images behave exactly as it is “prescribed” for them.

    I can’t download any of my photos any longer from the Upload administration panel to the site itself. This happened suddenly. What;’s going on? Fred
