Support » Plugin: ShortPixel Image Optimizer » Images remain unprocessed 10 hours after post is created

    Hi,
Love the plugin, but I have two issues:

When the user creates her post, and inserts the images, does she need to remain logged in until the images are processed? When I logged in 10 hours after she created her post, the media library shows them as still being processed, and with large file sizes. So, I click on Retry, and then they are processed. Do they only get processed if the user is still logged in?

I don’t know if she uploads all the images first, then creates the post, or whether she uploads each as she inserts them. I have emailed her to ask, in case it makes a difference.

Also, after I process them, the filesize column still displays the original size and is only updated if I refresh the media library screen, although the ShortPixel Compression column shows they have been process and how much they’ve been reduced by. Wouldn’t it make more sense to automatically refresh the filesize column, or don’t you have control over that?

    Thanks.

    Hi @terry777!

To your first question, yes, somebody needs to be logged in. Specifically, after the user uploads an image, one of the following pages needs to be visited: https://help.shortpixel.com/article/334-on-what-pages-does-spio-optimize-images
You need to also make sure that the automatic optimization is turned on (Settings > ShortPixel > Advanced).

Bear in mind that if she uploads an image while creating the post, the image won’t be processed immediately. Either you or herself will have to visit one of the previous pages to “trigger” the optimization.

Now, about the filesize column, ShortPixel actually refreshes it after the optimization happens. You can try it on a test site here: https://tastewp.com/. So I am not sure why that happens :(. I would recommend you to deactivate all plugins and try again, and then re-activate all the plugins one by one until you find out where the problem is.

    Cheers!
