    Hi there,

I’m using the TinyPNG WordPress Plugin and compressed all my images.

When checking my page with Google Pagespeed Insights, it still says that my images need to be optimized (and can be reduced by 15%).

What am I doing wrong? Why isn’t Google recognizing the optimized images?

I’ve exported the original files with “Export for Web” in Photoshop and used JPEG 80% quality. And then ran the bulk compression within wordpress.

    Best

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi daniwish,

Google recently changed their page speed tool to suggest aggressive image optimisations.

Although of course it is possible to compress images more aggressively than what TinyPNG and TinyJPG do, the quality tends to suffer. The image optimisation is intended to automatically determine an optimal balance between quality and size.

We do plan to look at the JPEG compression algorithms this year, to see if we can tune the optimisation to return smaller images in cases where it doesn’t harm the output quality.

Hope this helps understand the results given by Google.
