[resolved] images on videos have no protocol, crashing outlook (6 posts)

    Hello,

It looks like the recent update changes the way images for the video thumbnails are embedded and one is seeing image tags with no protocol specified, i.e.:

    <img src="//img.youtube.com/vi/5_jqhXNF98A/default.jpg"

We have our feed sent out through feed burner and everyone who uses outlook 7 is finding that our emails do a hard crash of outlook because outlook interprets that double slash as pointing to the local server. Yes, I know this is a problem with outlook, but it the "no protocol" solution does cause problems with many rss readers too. Is there a way to have a checkbox that just uses http: or https for image embeds?

    Thank you,
    erico

    Hi guys

I feel the plugin has too many options already is getting confusing for newbies. // is a standard and I am unable to do anything about it unfortunately (please have in mind that this is a free plugin and is quite big so I need to be able to maintain it effectively).

    Vladimir,
Thank you for the reply. I guess I'll just patch the code with each version to address this as needed. Believe me, Microsoft drives me crazy with things like this. If it were very easy for you to point me to the relevant file in the bundle to patch to hardcode for http in feeds, I would be grateful. If I figure it out, I'll post a response here.

    Thank you,
    Eric
