Support » Fixing WordPress » Images on mobile appear too small

  • Hi,

The images on my posts look fine from a laptop/computer screen, but from mobile they appear much smaller compared to the written content, even though they were uploaded at full size.

    Can you please help? Thanks!

  • It seems for security reasons, you have disabled right click on your website.

Might be some minor CSS tweak, an issue can be taken care of, but for that, some analysis is required.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I just checked one of your posts and the images look fine: https://imgur.com/a/froo42f. Are things looking different on your side? I just want to understand what’s the problem first so I can make sure that I’m looking for the right solution.

The keyword in your post is “appear”, how your content appears in the browser is a direct result of your theme. WordPress is only the software that manages the content. If your content is not displaying properly please seek support with the theme developers as they are best equipped to address your issue.

    Thanks for your replies.

I disabled the WP copyright protection temporarily if that will help with your analysis, but I’ve activated that plugin to prevent my images from being downloaded. Is there another free plugin that would prevent my images from being downloaded?

Thanks for showing the screenshot, that’s also what I see. I’d like for the images to be bigger than that, though. So would that be a matter of wordpress themes and not something else?

    Thank you.

If the image is being seen on the browser, it was already downloaded. That is how browsers work. They download the content, store it in a temp folder and render it on the screen. If it shows on the screen, it can be grabbed. A user can always view the page source and copy the image url.

To make the images fill their container you can remove their margin by adding custom css like this:

    .wp-block-image { margin: 20px 0;}

I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/photoblogger#new-post so the theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

I tried to add the custom CSS you suggested and it looks good on the preview in the customize section, but when I check my phone’s version after publishing, it still looks like nothing changed.

I’ll post to the theme’s developer’s support link for more help.
