Images not uploading/permalinks not working

    I just installed WP yesterday so I’m assuming it’s the latest version. I’ve seen other posts like this, but it didn’t fix for me. I try uploading with the Flash browser and get this error: The uploaded file could not be moved to D:\Inetpub\***(name)\***(blog)/wp-content/uploads/2009/12.
    I try using the Browser uploader and it gives me the error: Error saving media attachment. I tried using ftp to input pics into that directory and WP doesn’t see them in the media library. Any suggestions? Also, I go to change the permalinks to any of the options it gives (other than default) and view the site-change to diff. page and it gives me the “Page cannot be found” error. What is going on?

    Got the upload problem fixed, had to get host provider to change permissions on wp-content folder. 🙂
    Still not able to fix permalinks. Not sure Mod-rewrite is available on hosting plan. Any other suggestions?
