Images not uploading/appearing

    I’m on a new WP site on InMotion hosting and I’m having issues where I’m uploading images to my pages and posts and they’re not appearing. Checked my wp-content/uploads folder and the files are there but typing in the link brings up a 404 error page. Makes no sense. Went to Settings–>Miscellaneous and my path to Store uploads in this folder is the default i.e. the field is blank. Anyone know how to correct this?

    it would need to have /wp-content/uploads in that blank field
