Images not uploading after Import

    I am upgrading my WordPress theme onto a new server.

    I have exported the posts that I want to export choosing the category that I want, as these are the only posts I want to export. When I go to import the data, the images will not upload to the NEW server. It only references the images from the OLD website and server.

    I have read through old threads in this WordPress support forum and it states that I need to export everything in order for the import to work correctly, but this does not make sense to me, as I don’t need to export the 1000 posts we have on the old site.

    On top of which I have tried twice exporting all the content, but the server times out. I even went to the Apple store to export the data using their high speed Internet connection, and it still would not export and times out.

    I even tried uploading the images via FTP and they don’t even show up in the Media Library.

    I don’t want to just bulk import the images again through the Media Library, as it will lose the date/month associated with the posts.

    So I’m stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you discussed the issue with hosting provider?

    Why would I go to the hosting provider?

    I’ve seen many posts about similar issues in these forums. There must be someone who can provide some guidance at WordPress about this issue.

    It seems to be an ongoing problem when importing large amounts of data. I thought someone at WordPress could suggest some things to try?
