Images not shown in category / archive view

  • I just upgraded to WP 1.5. When clicking on a category or an archive, the images do not appear in the posts anymore. Only when I directly click on the post they appear, as well as on the normal index page.

What is wrong here? How can the images being displayed when clicking on “March 2005” for instance?

  • The category and archive views (both controlled by “archive.php” template of your theme) use the_excerpt that strips off all tags (images, links….). If you want to show text formatting and images on archives/category pages you have to replace the_excerpt with the_content. Look in Archive template (Presentation — Theme Editor)

That is my guess without seeing your site

Thank you. That exactly was the problem. I already suspected it to be something like this, but I didn’t know with what to replace the excerpt string.

You might have had this same problem in v1.2 without realizing it.
I have WPv1.2.1 and I have the same problem.

Although come to think of it, I use the Kubrick template which may have a differnet default from the standard.

in v1.2 you find this in your main index.php.
Search for Begin Archives – it’s in that section under div.class=entry.
