Support » Fixing WordPress » Images not showing/can't upload images after Upgrading to 4.5

  • I just uploaded the new 4.5 version and now cannot view my images library OR upload any images.

When I try to upload an image I keep getting the message
“An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

I am also unable to view my current media library.

  • Hi @livingstonpromise1425,

    Please read this: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-45-master-list

There you’ll find all steps to troubleshoot. WordPress works fine on it’s own. These issues have been proven to be with specific plugins and themes, most of which are fixed, you just have to upgrade your themes and plugins :-). This is normal. You cannot upgrade WP and not the plugins and themes.

    Hey AlejandroVS,

I have a dev site running the same theme and plugins (all up-to-date) as my prod install, but using WordPress v4.2.8. On the dev site I’m able to upload/view and add images to posts from the Library. On the production site I recently upgraded to v4.5.2 and I’m encountering the same issue as livingstonepromise1425. Again both installs use the same plugins and theme and all are the latest version. The only difference is the WP version.

I notice that all of the support forums are blaming 3rd party plugins and themes but I suspect the issue lies in the security upgrade for WP. Any other advice or word on a fix would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Ryan

yeah I ran into this as well. I had to download an offline copy of wp and manually update. That fixed many issues for me. The automatic update on the last revision didn’t go so well.

Hey Guys, I changed my PHP memory max to 96M from 64M and that solved my issue. Perhaps the new build of wordpress needs a bit more resources.
