  • Hi @johndiver,

From your brief description, it seems like you’ve uploaded images to the media library from within the WordPress dashboard.

Yet from the link you shared about (the page I need help with …), I don’t see any images within the source code. That indicates to me that no images have been placed in a post or page. Can you please add a photo or two to this page so we can troubleshoot a bit further?

    Hey Liam 🙂

    Thanks for the reply 🙂

I didn’t upload any images myself, they were in the theme and show in the preview but not on the actual site…

I searched and seen a few people has the same problem but I didnt find a solution.

    Thanks again Liam

    Hi John,

Ah, let me walk myself through this. Can you follow me and let me know if I got this right?

    * You saw a demo version of a theme that you liked.
    * You installed that theme on your own site.
    * You’re seeing the images from the demo in the media library, but they are not displaying on the front end of your site, like you saw in the demo.

    Is that correct?

If so, then the answer is that you’ll need to add those images yourself to each page, post, or widget. You can do so within the WordPress dashboard. If you’re looking for guidance on how to do so, you may want to check out the theme’s documentation to see if there’s anything there to help.

    Hey Liam,

By demo, do you mean preview?

This is happening on quite a few themes now though… So I dont think its the theme thats having the problem..
    Those are a few

    Thanks for helping 🙂

    Hi John,

Yep, I sure do mean ‘preview’ when I write ‘demo’.

To get your own site to look like the preview, you’ll need to add the images to the pages, posts, and widgets on your site. So, navigate to the page on which you want a certain to appear, and then via the edit page within the WordPress dashboard, add the image(s) via the ‘Add media’ or ‘Set featured image’ buttons and links.

    Hey Liam,

Thank you again for replying 🙂

I always thought WP themes included the images that are shown on the preview / demo?

Its been a while since I used it but they always did without having to add the images manually.. Ive quite a few sites so it would take a long time to add images to each page manually.. I’m talking 20 plus.. I thought the sites would just look like the theme in the demo?

    Thanks again Liam

    I mean 20 sites, not pages…

There must be something going wrong when Im trying different themes and its plain text with no images..

    Hi John,

My experience is that while themes may come with those photos, they will be not pre-slotted into pages, posts, and widgets. Those always need to manually entered into the sites.

Guess its all I can do then, going to be fun with around 20 sites on WP 😉

    That’s my weekend sorted 😀

    Thanks again Liam

It might be more efficient to get one version of the site and theme up and running and then to copy the install another 19 times.
