    Today my website [ redundant link removed ] suddenly started not showing any images neither the logo. I didn’t do any changes or installed new plugins these days. Google console says: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found). The link to the images which is something like this /8cc2e96585fbd4a48989f20776c37d25/1745/871/55/https/ is very weird…. But from the admin panel in “media library” I can see all the images. The installed plugins are: – Akismet Anti-Spam – All In One SEO Pack – Better Search Replace – Elementor – Orbit Fox Companion – Really SImple SSL – yoast seo – remove footer credit – team members

    This is the .htaccess file

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    # END WordPress

    No idea on how to fix this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you very much!

  • Start by turning off all plugins one by one to see if they are causing the problem. An update may have caused the conflict and sometimes simply turning them all off and on again will help (reloading them).

    Also, re-saving your permalink settings may help. Simply switch permalinks to a different setting, save, then switch back to the setting you were running.

    If you need to keep everything running while troubleshooting, you can install this plugin which allows you to turn on and off plugins ONLY for you.

    Thank you very much for your advice and help. Really appreciated that. This morning I deleted all files in FTP and uploaded a backup of the site and replaced also the DB, then I also deactivated and re-activated all plugins but images kept not showing returning the same 404 ERROR. Then, about an hour ago suddenly everything backed to normal. I find it very weird… Just hope won’t happen again in future, because already happened twice but the first time I was able to fix it by simply uploading a backup.

    Anyway thanks again

    Glad it’s working for you. Intermittent problems are the worst (true for websites and car repair). Try this app out to see if there’s activity happening you don’t know about in case it comes back.

    Thanks for your help!!
