    I ran the regenerate images.

    I get this message
Saving the weight of your images: 266.24 MB (27%)
The process was completed successfully. Your images have been converted!

    List of errors

    >>>It gives tons of links to images and says does not exist, but they do exist.

I don’t see where any images have been converted.

    Please advise, thank you

    Hi @thedesertgirl,

    Thank you for your message.

Tell me please have you read the plugin FAQ? There are answers to many questions. Remember to always read the FAQ of the plugin and other similar threads before adding a thread in the support section.

Many problems could be solved without adding a thread, because the issue has already been raised in the FAQ or another thread. And that saves a lot of time.

Try to understand me, please. There are many people who write with various problems and try to help them all. There is even a special question in the FAQ that sets out what I need to help you.

Then help is much faster. Please appreciate your and my time. With little information I can do little. I will be grateful for your cooperation.

    I have read the faq’s.

I clicked on the regenerate all button and have a ton of errors of “does not exist”.

I have read in the forum that we need to make sure the directory permissions are correctly set. What should they be set to?

The plugin uses the is_writable() method. When it returns false it means then you get this type of error. Contact the administrator of your server.

@thedesertgirl, I have created a special update for you that will allow a better diagnosis. Please download it and try converting the images again:
    https://gbiorczyk.pl/webp-converter-for-media-1.2.7.zip

If you get an error: File "%s" does not exist. Please check file path. means that the file_exists() function in PHP returned false using the file path given in the error message. Check this path and make sure it is correct.

If you get an error: File "%s" is unreadable. Please check file permissions. means that the is_readable() function in PHP returnedfalse using the file path given in the error message. Check the permissions for the file and the directory in which the file is located.

Let me know what you managed to find out, ok?

Did you check if these files exist and whether the path for them is correct?

I decided to go a different route. Thank you for your help.

I am having the same problem. This plugin was previously working fine for me, but now it is not. Google Page Speed Insights confirms that images are no longer being served as WebP (even though previously they were), and on the plugin settings page, there are 100s of errors exactly like the following for all of my images:

    File “https://i1.wp.com/yourimeexperts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/nicole-h-e1568712576520.jpg?fit=640%2C640&ssl=1” does not exist.

@randallhedglin, before that means when? Give me more information, please.

Early last week it worked properly, but I noticed this morning it is no longer working for me.

    (@mateuszgbiorczyk)

@randallhedglin, how did this happen? Have you changed something on your website?

Please give me all the information that is mentioned in the FAQ in the question about technical support.

The only change I made was to install Jetpack. I just confirmed that if I deactivate Jetpack, your plugin works correctly again, and Page Speed tells me that the WebP images are again being served. However, I need to use Jetpack. Is there a solution that will let me use both?

    Plugin Author Mateusz Gbiorczyk

    (@mateuszgbiorczyk)

Unfortunately, this arrangement is not possible. You use Jetpack to compress images, as evidenced by the parameters in the image URL, e.g. fit=640. Therefore, Jetpack creates its redirects and they are mutually exclusive.
