I have had a problem on two sites where Google is indexing and displaying the attached images on a post rather than the post itself.

I am afraid I have tried fixing by changing the urls and Google no longer displays the conent. So I can’t point to the problem.

But I searched the forum and found a thread where someone had a similar problem which they fixed by ‘attaching’ the images to the post. But mine are OK. Something I have only picked up recently and am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?

    Hey @kathtam,

I’d recommend that you redirect attachments to the post parent under Search Appearance > Media in AIOSEO if you haven’t already.

I figured out how to no index the image which I assume is a last resort that negates any SEO value. What is the impact of redirecting? The same or less drastic?

    Thanks for the advice.

Less drastic since search engines still end up on a page that can be indexed. Neither of them will have a significant impact on your SEO though.
