Yes and I did mentioned that in my post. So why imagify tries to load webp on IE?
I was using litespeed cache plugin earlier which also supports webp but they never loaded webp on IE
I think this is something what the plugin mentions, “load webp images when supported”?
You didn’t mention that you knew it doesn’t work in IE. You said “I checked it on IE 11 and the images are not loading” which is a bit of a difference between knowing and not knowing whether something works.
To my knowledge WEBP does not work in IE. So there’s your answer.

I will quote my message
“When I checked in the developer tools, looks like the page is trying to load the webp version of the images which I believe is not supported on IE hence fails”
The plugin should have a fallback image for non supported browsers as many other plugins have. But as I see from your response there is no plan for it so I have switched to a different plugin which seems to handle supported and non supported browsers both.
Thanks for your support
Ok well my bad then. I’m sure the plugin developer will chime in.
Hi @golinuxcloud!
This is Joseph from Imagify, and I’ll gladly assist you here!
Thank you for your patience in awaiting our response.
You are correct that WebP images are not supported in IE 11 (and also not in Safari). Imagify does account for this and provides a fallback to JPG or PNG images in those cases, normally.
One issue other users have run into is when using our “Use rewrite rules” option for displaying WebP images and also using Cloudflare. Is there any chance this was the case for you? When these are used together, we have seen that there is an error in how Cloudflare caches and serves images, resulting in some WebP images being served to users of IE 11 or Safari.
Whether or not this is the case for you, we’d be happy to try and get this resolved for you if you’d like to reinstall Imagify, activate WebP display, and send us a link so we can take a look. Just let us know and we’d be glad to assist!
Best regards,
Joseph
