Images not appearing after upload

    Hello helpers,

    I recently moved hosts and then upgraded to 3.3.1
    Ever since, my image uploads have not been working and some of the images previously loaded to my media library have also disappeared.

    The upload works fine, they are given a location and appear in the library but there is no actual image that loads. They do, however, appear in the editor.

    I have tried changing themes and deactivating all my plugins to no avail.

    They are images of all different sizes and file types. And, as I said before some of them used to exist in the older version of my site.

    Any ideas?

    but there is no actual image that loads.

    Link please? It may make it easier for the rest of us to diagnose if we can see the problem ourselves.

    I have not set up the main body of the page yet, but the header is an example. I’ve actually uploaded an image to that and it doesn’t load. There are also examples of it in the first few posts on my blog.

    It is also happening within the dashboard too – ie the images don’t actually appear in the library although they are listed there.

    If you mean this image:

    Then it’s a permission issue, that link gets me

You don't have permission to access /wp-content/uploads/2012/04/test-rose.jpg on this server.

    Are you doing anything like hotlink protection that might be blocking JPGs from loading?

    – turns out all the permissions got changed in the server move. fixed now.
