  • I am having the same issue with the nivoslider on my home page since I upgraded. It also seems to be causing issues with the PopUp alert.
I’m still digging. I’ll let you know if I come up with anything.

Here is the site with issues

Hi all, seems like both the slider’s are working well (including Nivo Slider) for you’s. I’ll mark this topic as resolved but if you still require assistance feel free to make contact and re-open the topic 🙂

Hi, could we reopen this topic? I am having this issue as well. The Easing Slider was working, and then I upgraded to WP 3.5.1 and now the slider won’t load. In the back end, the image links are all still there. However, in the front, the load symbol pops up and no images appear. Here is the link to the site: linktoliberia.com

Hi @l2lib, there appears to be a Javascript error on your site that is causing jQuery to fail, therefore the slider cannot function. The only option is to rectify the error. Have a look at the screenshot taken below.

You’ll probably need to contact your theme author about it, or if you feel it may be caused by a plugin then you can try disabling all other plugins to see if that corrects the error. If so, re-enable the plugins one-by-one until you find the culprit.

I found upgrading to be a problem but then I noticed a chance comment from Matthew saying deactivate all the widgets and it then worked after an upgrade. I turned on widgets one at a time and have not found the one that caused the failure. However I did find that when upgrading Widgets that various files that were upgraded were incomplete and I had to drag copy replacements to make them work. So I would download the upgrade unzip it and copy the contents to the plugin folder and overwrite the originals there. This would explain why someone else would say they would have three goes at upgrading before it worked. The original Zip files are okay but during the upgrade process some files were copied incomplete, like as if they did not get a chance unpack completely.

Sounds like your WordPress upgrade procedure was failing, very unusual but not much that can be done about it. Well done on figuring this our yourself, and thanks for sharing. I’m sure some other users might have run into similar problems with their various plugin upgrades.

    Cheers 🙂
