• After updating to the 3.7.12 version of atahualpa, not only did the header images disappear, but there were background images used that are gone. I flipped through quickly to see a few posts on changing the location from atahualpa to wp-content, but was wondering is that only for the header or is that also for any images used at all?

Any deeper answers to the process would be helpful, too.

    thank you.

  • Lesson 1: alway do a complete backup of your site before doing any updates.

When you do an automatic theme upgrade, WordPress deletes all the files and folders in the theme folder before installing the new version of the theme. This means any images you put in the theme folder will be gone. There is a new option in version 3.7.12 to save your header, logo and favicon images outside the theme folder.

As for background images, it would depend on where you had put them.
