Not really, unless you post more info or a link.
Look at the HTML source of your post and find the IMG tag. Now copy that URL and load that into your browser. Did you get a file not found or some other 40x error message?
You should be using the extension JPG, not JPEG.

When uploading a pic, it gets put into http://domainName.com/wordpressDir/wp-content/uploads/image.jpg
I don’t have a sub folder called “uploads”, so just modified the href path.

I just used a test image to upload.
In the actual post page you can see the image. But on the home page it does not show.
The image is uploaded: As you can visit it below.

But no matter what I try I cannot get it to display on the front page.
