Images from iPhoto to Media Library Incorrect Orientation

I have a client that has an older WordPress blog where she can go into the Media Library select “add new”, click on “Select Files”, then Photos which takes her directly into her iPhoto library and she then selects the images she wants. She has been doing it this way for a long time.

We recently redeveloped her website and when she mimics this process the vertical images come into the library sideways. Is there a setting in WordPress which will force the images to come in correctly?

If she exports them into a folder and drags them in they are perfect. She would ideally like to keep her process intact if possible.
