    Hello,
It was ticket #2810118 created that images in Jetpack galleries got distorted when I’ve updated theme BigBlue and login.
    I’ve checked another themes.
In updated theme Twenty Sixteen – images distorted.
I downloaded the old version Twenty Sixteen – no distortion.
I downloaded theme Linten – no distortion but this theme wasn’t updated more than 2 years.
All updated themes that I’ve checked create distortion images in Jetpack gallery couple second after login.
It is especially noticeable on Safari.
Because of images distortion, I am using outdate themes where are no images distortions.
But using outdated themes are no recommended because of viruses and other issues.
How to fix those images distortion to use update theme?
    thanks.

    Hi,

What is the URL of your site? What kind of distortion are you referring to? You can share a link to a screenshot in your reply.

    Hello,
I provide all information in icket #2810118 that was open by email.
    Can you retrieve this information?
Let me know what info you need and how to send it to you without sharing private details on pubic forum?
    You need to login.
When user login if theme updated, then first couple second images on Jetpack gallery got distorted especially on Safari – they became huge wide and long.
If theme outdated – no images distortion in Jetpack galleries.
It happened on all websites where I am using Jetpack titled gallery.

    thanks.

So this happens only during the first moments when the site is loading on Safari, is that right? What version of Safari do you use?

This may be a browser issue but you can also rule out plugin or theme conflict. Please try to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

To make it easier, you can install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Yes it happened(distortion) during the first moments when login and using updated themes.
When themes outdated – no distortion and everything fine.
My service provider thought that maybe this is Safari to blame and I clean all cache, cookies, history – it doesn’t help.
Also Safari up to date and provider said that I don’t need to reinstall it.
Safari version as below and Mac is up to date
    Version 13.1.2 (15609.3.5.1.3)
But distortion is also in Window when the theme is updated.
Why everything fine on outdated themes and distortions only occurred on updated themes?
Is plugin Jetpack gallery updated to satisfy updated theme and if so,
why I got distortion only on updated themes but not on the old outdated ones?
How to proceed to be able to update theme and don’t get distortion?
    thanks.

Have you spoken with the theme’s support about this? The issue sounds like it’s just limited to the current release of that one theme. perhaps something changed in their update?

Didn’t get any answer by email or forum from theme Big Blue developer(link below):

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-images-distortion-on-gallery-after-updating-big-blue-theme/#new-topic-0

But it doesn’t happened with only one Big Blue theme but also with default Twenty Sixteen theme….

Should I ask also this default theme why updating create problems with distortion?

But maybe this is coincidence and Jetpack updating or/and my images sizes became not compatible with Jetpack galleries?

It looks like now distortion on Safari became less noticeable …or maybe it is because of cashed pages with Jetpack galleries.

How to narrow down the issue with distortion to know the real reason of it and how to fix it?
    thanks.

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

    Hello,

    I have different WordPress sides.
One of them I’ve updated Jetpack and there are NO distortion on Safari.

But one very important option is missing that was present before – there are no arrow to navigate between images…
You see the Jetpack gallery – click on image – go to this image – could enlarge it and write comment but NO navigation between images.

I need this navigation even if there are some distortion of inagesn on Safari.

Can I have navigation between images in updated Jetpack gallery or I need to restore the old Jetpack version?
    thanks.

We’ll need to know the URL of the site with the problem to investigate and continue with this.

I’ve checked an another side where Jetpack updated – and no problems with navigations between images.
What is the setting in Jetpack gallery to have the navigations between images?

The problem is starting when images became distorted, not clickable – I fix it manually also my server provider was notify about issues with distortions and with navigations lost between images in Jetpack galleries.

This web is private and I could not share it on public forum – so I can send it in some kind of encryption if you say me how.

Also I could send any screenshots for proper investigation – but basically right now – there is no option in galleries to go from one picture to an another.
Again, how to implement a navigation in Jetpack galleries?
    thanks.

    Hi there,

Again, how to implement a navigation in Jetpack galleries?

You need to enable the Carousel feature:

    https://jetpack.com/support/carousel/

But it doesn’t happened with only one Big Blue theme but also with default Twenty Sixteen theme….

Give it a try with the most recent default WordPress theme called Twenty Twenty and let me know how it goes.

    Hello,
This was already checked under writing.
There were comment checked as well but I took it off.
I’ve checked all setting in Jetpack working gallieriies and this one – the setting are identical but I still could not get navigation on this side.
This side has much more pictures compare with others.
It was working before – but stop working and navigation between images don’t show.
I also try Twenty Twenty theme – but there were no navigations between images in Jetpack titled galleries.
I’ve informed my hosting provider but they have no solution yet.
What else need to do to make Jetpack galleries work properly?
    thanks.

    Thread Starter tatyana100

    (@tatyana100)

    some addition.
I’ve tried to create the new page using Jetpack Gallery as I did before and still can do on other websites – but on this websites I could not create galley with navigation. Basically it show gallery – but no navigations as supposed to be.
    thanks.
