 * I have set up a NextGEN gallery for a page on my website.
 * The thumbnails are displaying exactly how I want them but when I click on one
   to enlarge it I get two things. Firstly I get a black screen showing the image
   with navigation buttons at the bottom, which I don’t want. When I close that
   I get the usual floating image that looks a bit like an old Polaroid photograph
   which I do want.
 * Why does my gallery show the black screen before the more usual one?
 * The page in question can be found here: [http://www.silverphotography.co.uk/wordpress/wedding_photography_reprints/parents-albums/](http://www.silverphotography.co.uk/wordpress/wedding_photography_reprints/parents-albums/)

 * [@trevormwilson](https://wordpress.org/support/users/trevormwilson/) looks like
   you have 2 lightboxes active. If you prefer not to use a built-in lightbox then
   and want to use the black one that shows first, then go to Other Options >> Lightbox
   Effects and choose No Lightbox. That will disable NextGEN Gallery’s lightbox
   function.

 * Thanks Scott. I actually prefer it the other way around. I don’t want the black
   one, I only want the floating one. I changed the settings to Lightbox Effects–
   No Lightbox but this just leaves me with the black one that I don’t want.
 * How would I disable the black one and keep the other one?

 * [@trevormwilson](https://wordpress.org/support/users/trevormwilson/), the other
   one (the “black one”) is not a NextGEN effect, but it comes from “Photoswipe”,
   probably a script added to your theme.

 * Thanks [@tizz](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tizz/). 🙂 [@trevormwilson](https://wordpress.org/support/users/trevormwilson/)–
   as [@tizz](https://wordpress.org/support/users/tizz/) mentioned, this is likely
   rooting fro your Theme. If you temporarily switch to the default WordPress Twenty
   Twelve theme, you’ll likely see that effect go away.
