Support » Plugin: Smush - Optimize, Compress and Lazy Load Images » Images disappeared after bulk Smush-It

Most of the images on my site disappeared after using Smush-it. A few older images survived ok, but most did not.

Reviewing through older and closed topics, someone who had a similar issue said he had restored permissions to default. This had solved the problem but I have no idea what permissions he was referring to.

Another with the same issue found he had to restore all of the images manually. I don’t look forward to that.

    Suggestions?

    Hi @zzzmuzz

Are the images gone from your media library then? Are they still in wp-content/uploads?

I’ve not seen this reported can you post links to the other threads?

What permissions were they referring to? File permissions?

Do you have any error logs you can share that might shed some light on this?

Quite odd. I logged into wordpress the next day and all of the images were as they should be. The only think I can think of if that the bulk smush took a VERY long time and I had opened the site while the process was still underway.

Thanks for your comments. The link about permissions etc was here:

I can now close the topic.
