    Hi David!

This plugin was working perfectly but after upgrading it, images disappeared and only “Nelio” placeholders were shown. Images disappeared from any browser and iPhone 5s also.

    1. The plugin was downgraded (through FTP) to the previous version and the current version was deleted. Was that fine? Where are the external images links saved?
    2. Because 1. didn’t fix the issue, the WordPress database was restored. Now the images are shown whenever the homepage (where the images are) is not refreshed. In short, after refreshing the page, the images are not shown (only blank images).Later, after refreshing the page again, the images could be shown again (maybe not-if cache is not flushed) and so on. Upgrading the plugin again didn’t fix the issue either.
    3. I checked each post (after logging into the WordPress account) and fortunately the external images are there. So the links are still kept in any location.
    4. Both versions of the plugin are still there (after reinstalling the latest one). The new version was renamed but it’s still shown as “Nelio External Featured Image”.

    I would appreciate taking a look: http://thepowerstreams.com

How can this issue be fixed definitely?

    Thanks!

    Hi @wppower!

Apparently, the new version of the plugin is giving more problems than I expected. I’m working on them, because I really think they can be resolved and we can have a better and more reliable plugin. In the meantime, though, you should revert to version 1.2.0 (which, by the way, is the stable version again).

If you have a backup of your wp-content/uploads folder and your database, you can try the beta version I’m working on right now. Uninstall old version of our plugin and install 1.3.2beta. Then, go to Media » NelioEFI and click on Fix External Images. Once the process is completed, check your site. Does it work?

    Hi again!

Instead of testing the beta (which I removed), try testing version 1.3.2 and check if it works for you. Right after it’s installed, go to Media » NelioEFI and click on “Regenerate EFI Attachments”. This will create virtual attachments for all the posts that use an external featured images, which is necessary for making them visible in your frontend.

Needless to say, you should backup your database and your wp-content/uploads folder before trying out new plugins.

Let me know if this solved your issues!

Thank you but after following the steps, the issue persists, blank images. The images came up but after refreshing the page, they were gone.

    Hi wppower!

That makes no sense at all. Version 1.3 adds a parameter to the featured images’ URL (http://example.com/path-to-nelioefi-placholder.png?nelioefi=http://external.com/image.jpg) that specifies the external featured image (http://external.com/image.jpg). For some reason, after the first load, this parameter is removed from your website and, therefore, our plugin is unable to load the external featured image. This probably occurs because of your cache or minification setup, but it’s difficult to tell.

Anyway, I’ve decided to go back to back to version 1.2.0 and mark it as stable. Since that one works for you, you should have no more problems.

    Thanks for your help!
