  • Hello
I just uploaded “sight” theme to my self hosted sight, and suddenly all my images are blurry. How do I fix this?

everything changed….when I self hosted my sight

The images on your front page, the thumbnails, are displayed at the dimensions 290px X 290px. Their actual physical size is 150px X 150px, so they are upscaled.

You change things around by going to Settings –> Media and altering your thumbnail sizes. This will only affect new uploads so you also need to run something like: Force Regenerate Thumbnails to rebuild your media library.

I don’t understand….This is my first time designing a blog
I went to settings—-media and changed all the thumbnails to 150 height and 150 width.and also changed medium and large size to 150. I also installed the force regenerate thumbnail but the featured image is still blurry

OK. The 290×290 dimensions are being dictated by your theme. So you can ask your site to display any image you want as thumbnails, the theme is always going to ask visitors’ browsers to scale up (or down) to 290×290.

I had a quick look at your theme code, it’s trying to switch the default thumbnail size to 290×290 on activation. So it’s expecting to find thumbnails of that size.

Try increasing the thumbnail size to 290×290 and regenerating the thumbnails again.

I reloaded the featured images, I think I fixed it. thank you very much
