Images at end of post, with a float (aka WP align-left or -right) overlap footer

Installed AMP on our Dev server. Using expanded docs in github to customize. One of our authors has a post with images at the end, both full size, both align-left. They overlap the footer and comment / category content. Removing float resolves the issue, but there’s no way to conditionally remove the float on only images with nothing after them.
