    I collected, the pictures on the main page are 6 – 7 MB in total.

    That is a good point. The archive images should use smaller sizes based on the layout being used. That’s something I can implement in a future update. There’s an update coming out later today and I can’t include it in time for that, but I’ll add it to the next one.

    As an even more comprehensive solution for this problem, I would recommend the Optimole plugin, which I use on all of my sites. Optimole will generate images resized to the exact dimensions needed. For instance, If the images on the archive pages are 307px wide, Optimole will load images that are that exact size. And if someone visits on a smaller screen and they’re 220px for that visitor, that’s the size Optimole will use for them.
