Images and links bumping to next line

I am finding that when I add a gallery to a page whether it be direct from the page (using the add media button) or a gallery plugin with a short code on the page, that my one of my images in each row always gets bumped to the next line. On a row of three images, two will appear on one line and the last one will be on the next line. On a row of two images, the last image is also bumped so that only one image is shown per line.

Similarly, if I have some text that I have linked that text gets bumped to the next line. If I remove the link, the text remains on the same line.

I have disabled the sidebar feature so I am not sure why my images and links are getting bumped down.

Can anyone please help or have any suggestions to fix? Thanks in advance
