• Hi,

I am using WordPress to build website instead of a blog. I have created some html pages with lots of images. Where is the place place to store the images? I have read that the root document is the best place. I have also read that creating an subdomain for images is a good way to prevent the site from loading slow. I tried this and uploaded the images to the root of that folder but they didn’t show up. Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated.

    Morning Nancy,

It would all depend on what you are wanting to use the images for.

If you are using the images as a photo gallery then there are many plugins for wordpress that can help, or if your just using the images on pages and not as a gallery you could just upload them using the built in wordpress image uploader.

I hope i have been able to help

Thanks Matt. The html files were created with an html editor. They are sales pages and landing pages with hundreds of images and some videos embedded.

    Nancy,

Have you got a link so i may have a quick look to see what the best option might be?

Here is one of the links to one of the pages. There are 8 of them and they are all the same format just different products.

I would just upload the images using the default wordpress image uploader. The default image uploader uploads the images to a directory that has the correct permissions to allow the image to be shown to the public on that web page.

I hope i was able to help

Thanks for trying to help. I uploaded the files to the media manager and none of the images show. I read somewhere that they wouldn’t. I will use Filezilla to upload to the root document and see if that works.
