 * Can you email a post in without attaching an image. And allow the thumbnail image
   to show up in the post.

 * Not at this time. If there is an image attached to the email it will show up 
   in the post. Optionally this can be the featured image.

 * So you are saying the blogger by email would have to attach an image every time
   they post. Unless I set up a “Featured Image” Is this correct.

 * if so would you know how I would do this in the “Homequest” theme or indeed if
   it is possible.

 * I guess I misunderstood your question.
 * If you want the same image to show up at the top over every post then you are
   talking about something the theme should do. Postie isn’t really involved.
